  • 4 cups bread, cubed preferably stale
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ cup raisins optional

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Place the cubed bread in a baking dish and pour the milk mixture over the bread. Let it sit for 10 minutes to soak.
  4. Sprinkle raisins over the top if using.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
