Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 kg chicken cut into pieces
  • 1 piece onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 piece ginger sliced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 pieces green onions chopped for garnish
  • 1 piece lemon sliced for garnish

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
  2. 2. Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.
  3. 3. Stir in rice and cook for a few minutes, coating it with the oil and aromatics.
  4. 4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until rice is cooked and the porridge thickens, about 30-40 minutes.
  5. 5. Season with fish sauce, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. 6. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and lemon slices.
