- 1 lb Dried beans soaked overnight
- 1 lb Ham hock
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste
- 6 cups Water
1. Rinse and drain the soaked beans.
2. In a large pot, combine beans, ham hock, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and water.
3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
4. Remove ham hock, shred the meat, and return it to the pot. Discard the bone.
5. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
