Indian Bottle Gourd Thoran Recipe
A simple and delicious South Indian dish made with bottle gourd, coconut, and spices.

Main Ingredients
- 1 medium Bottle Gourd peeled and chopped
- ½ cup Grated Coconut
- 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 2 units Green Chilies slit
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 sprig Curry Leaves
Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add cumin seeds, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté for a minute.
Add chopped bottle gourd, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
Cover and cook on low heat until the bottle gourd is tender.
Add grated coconut and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Serve hot as a side dish with rice or chapati.
