Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken cut into pieces
  • 2 cups Basmati Rice
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 cup Onions sliced
  • 2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 bunch Cilantro chopped
  • 1 bunch Mint Leaves chopped

Instructions 

  1. 1. Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a large pot. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  4. 4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  5. 5. Add chicken pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  6. 6. Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. 7. Add soaked rice and water. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  8. 8. Reduce the heat, cover the pot, and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  9. 9. Garnish with chopped cilantro and mint leaves. Serve hot.
