Indian Cholar Dal Recipe
A traditional Bengali lentil dish made with chana dal, spices, and ghee. Perfect for a comforting meal.

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Chana Dal soaked for 1 hour
- 2 tablespoon Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 2 pcs Bay Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
- 2 pcs Green Chilies slit
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- to taste Salt
- 2 cups Water
1. Rinse and soak chana dal for 1 hour.
2. In a pressure cooker, add soaked chana dal, turmeric powder, and water. Cook for 3-4 whistles.
3. In a pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Sauté for a minute.
4. Add ginger paste and green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
5. Add cooked chana dal, salt, and sugar. Mix well and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
6. Serve hot with rice or roti.
