Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole black gram (urad dal) soaked overnight
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 cup Tomato puree
  • ½ cup Fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • to taste Salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse and soak the black gram (urad dal) overnight.
  2. 2. Pressure cook the soaked dal with 4 cups of water for about 20-25 minutes or until soft.
  3. 3. In a pan, heat butter and add ginger-garlic paste. Sauté for a minute.
  4. 4. Add tomato puree, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
  5. 5. Add the cooked dal to the tomato mixture. Mix well.
  6. 6. Add fresh cream and garam masala. Simmer for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
  7. 7. Serve hot with naan or rice.
