Indian Dal Tadka Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Toor Dal (Yellow Lentils)
- 3 cups Water
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
Tadka Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Ghee or Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
- 2 Green Chilies slit
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves chopped
1. Rinse the toor dal thoroughly and soak for 15 minutes.
2. In a pressure cooker, add soaked dal, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles.
3. Heat ghee or oil in a frying pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
4. Add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until golden brown.
5. Add chopped tomato and cook until soft.
6. Add red chili powder and mix well.
7. Pour the tadka over the cooked dal and mix well.
8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
