Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g French beans trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup Grated coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 units Green chilies slit
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add cumin seeds, green chilies, and asafoetida. Sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the French beans and salt. Mix well.
  5. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beans are tender.
  6. Add grated coconut and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot as a side dish.
