Indian Ghevar Recipe
Ghevar is a traditional Rajasthani dessert, often enjoyed during festivals like Teej and Raksha Bandhan. It's a honeycomb-like disc made from flour and soaked in sugar syrup.

- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- ¼ cup Ghee melted
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 cup Sugar
- ½ cup Water for sugar syrup
- ¼ teaspoon Cardamom powder
- as needed Saffron strands optional
- as needed Chopped nuts for garnish
1. In a bowl, mix flour and melted ghee. Gradually add water and whisk to make a smooth batter.
2. Add lemon juice to the batter and mix well.
3. Heat ghee in a deep frying pan. Pour batter in a thin stream to form a disc. Fry until golden brown.
4. In another pan, make sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water until it reaches one-string consistency. Add cardamom powder and saffron.
5. Soak the fried ghevar in sugar syrup for a few minutes. Remove and let it cool.
6. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
