Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Ghee melted
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Water for sugar syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • as needed Saffron strands optional
  • as needed Chopped nuts for garnish

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a bowl, mix flour and melted ghee. Gradually add water and whisk to make a smooth batter.
  2. 2. Add lemon juice to the batter and mix well.
  3. 3. Heat ghee in a deep frying pan. Pour batter in a thin stream to form a disc. Fry until golden brown.
  4. 4. In another pan, make sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water until it reaches one-string consistency. Add cardamom powder and saffron.
  5. 5. Soak the fried ghevar in sugar syrup for a few minutes. Remove and let it cool.
  6. 6. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
