Indian Maharashtrian Amti Dal Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Toor Dal (Split Pigeon Peas)
- 2 cups Water
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (Hing)
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoon Fresh Coriander Leaves chopped
Rinse the toor dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
Cook the dal in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water until soft.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafoetida. Let them splutter.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Stir well.
Add the cooked dal to the pan, mix well, and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
