Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup Moong Dal
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk
  • ½ cup Jaggery grated
  • ¼ teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 10 pieces Cashew Nuts broken
  • 10 pieces Raisins

Instructions 

  1. 1. Dry roast the moong dal in a saucepan until it turns golden brown.
  2. 2. Add water and cook the moong dal until it becomes soft.
  3. 3. Add the coconut milk and grated jaggery to the cooked dal. Stir well.
  4. 4. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. 5. In a separate pan, heat ghee and fry the cashew nuts and raisins until golden brown.
  6. 6. Add the fried cashew nuts and raisins to the payasam. Mix well and serve warm.
