Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ragi flour
  • 1 cup Idli rice
  • 0.5 cup Urad dal
  • 0.25 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
  • to taste Salt
  • as needed Water

Instructions 

  1. Soak the idli rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds separately for 4-5 hours.
  2. Grind the urad dal and fenugreek seeds to a smooth batter.
  3. Grind the idli rice to a slightly coarse batter.
  4. Mix the ragi flour with water to make a smooth paste.
  5. Combine all batters and mix well. Add salt.
  6. Let the batter ferment overnight or for 8-10 hours.
  7. Pour the batter into idli molds and steam for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
