Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 1 cup Mixed Vegetables carrots, peas, beans
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger minced
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 cups Water
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro chopped, for garnish

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. 2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3. Add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for another minute.
  4. 4. Add mixed vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Add soaked rice, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  6. 6. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked.
  7. 7. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
