Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice rinsed
  • 2 cups Water
  • ¼ teaspoon Saffron threads soaked in 2 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee or butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 pieces Cardamom pods crushed
  • 1 piece Cinnamon stick
  • 2 pieces Cloves

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2. In a saucepan, heat the ghee or butter over medium heat.
  3. 3. Add the cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  4. 4. Add the rinsed rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  5. 5. Pour in the water, saffron with its soaking water, and salt. Stir well.
  6. 6. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  7. 7. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
