Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sama ke Chawal
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Rock Salt or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger grated
  • 1 unit Green Chili chopped
  • 2 units Potatoes peeled and diced

Instructions 

  1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add grated ginger and chopped green chili, sauté for a minute.
  4. Add diced potatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add sama ke chawal and mix well.
  6. Add water and rock salt. Stir well.
  7. Close the lid and cook on medium heat for 2 whistles.
  8. Let the pressure release naturally. Open the lid and fluff the khichdi with a fork.
