Indian Sarson Ka Saag Recipe

Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Mustard greens (sarson)
  • 250 g Spinach
  • 2 tablespoon Cornmeal
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 2 Green chilies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste

Instructions 

  1. Clean and chop the mustard greens and spinach.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add the greens with a little water and cook for 5-6 whistles.
  3. Once cooled, blend the greens to a coarse paste.
  4. In a pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, ginger paste, garlic paste, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
  5. Add the blended greens and cornmeal. Cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add salt to taste and serve hot with makki di roti.
