Indian Style Rice with Cashews Raisins and Turmeric Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 2 tablespoon Ghee or oil
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- ½ cup Cashews halved
- ¼ cup Raisins
- 2 cups Water
- to taste Salt
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a saucepan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat.
Add the turmeric powder and stir for a few seconds until fragrant.
Add the cashews and raisins, and sauté until the cashews are golden brown.
Add the rinsed rice and stir to coat the rice with the ghee and spices.
Pour in the water and add salt to taste. Bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
