Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice flour
  • ½ cup Urad dal flour
  • 1 tablespoon Butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • as needed Water for kneading
  • for deep frying Oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large bowl, mix rice flour, urad dal flour, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. 2. Add softened butter and mix well until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  3. 3. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, soft dough.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. 5. Fill the murukku press with dough and press into hot oil in circular motions.
  6. 6. Fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. 7. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
