Indian Tomato Rice Recipe

- 1 cup Basmati Rice rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 cup Onion finely chopped
- 2 cups Tomatoes chopped
- 2 teaspoons Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 cup Water
- to taste Salt
- 2 tablespoons Cilantro chopped
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
Add soaked rice and mix well.
Add water and bring to a boil. Cover and cook on low heat until rice is done.
Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
