Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Mixed Vegetables (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 cups Water

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  3. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onions are golden brown.
  4. Add mixed vegetables and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are slightly tender.
  5. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  6. Add the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
