Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 800 g Canned Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 handful Fresh Basil, chopped optional

Instructions 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in the canned tomatoes, including the juice. Break the tomatoes up with a spoon.
  5. Add the dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. If using, stir in the fresh basil just before serving.
