Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 800 g Canned Tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 handful Fresh Basil, chopped optional
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Pour in the canned tomatoes, including the juice. Break the tomatoes up with a spoon.
Add the dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If using, stir in the fresh basil just before serving.
