Oklahoma Indian Tacos Recipe
A delicious and hearty dish featuring fry bread topped with seasoned ground beef, beans, and your favorite taco toppings.

Fry Bread
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Warm water
- as needed Oil for frying
Taco Toppings
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 packet Taco seasoning
- 1 can Pinto beans drained and rinsed
- 1 cup Shredded lettuce
- 1 cup Diced tomatoes
- 1 cup Shredded cheese
- 1 cup Sour cream
- as desired Salsa
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Divide into 4 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a round.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry each piece of dough until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
In another pan, cook the ground beef until browned. Add taco seasoning and pinto beans, and cook until heated through.
Top each fry bread with the beef mixture, then add lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa as desired.
